The Pretoria Show is a popular agricultural show, flea market and all round entertaining family outing that has taken place every spring since 1939.
Officially named the Jacaranda Agricultural Show, the Pretoria Show is held in late August and/or early September at the Pretoria Showgrounds (now known as the Tshwane Events Centre) in Pretoria West.
Hosted in the various halls throughout the showgrounds, the Pretoria Show offers visitors stands, stalls and exhibits on Travel and Tourism, Fishing and Outdoors, Vehicles, Food, Furniture and DIY, Art, Home Décor, Computers and more. Popular among the youth is the fun fare with its various thrilling rides. Children of all ages are also offered educational entertainment that is tailored to their individual needs, whether they are in pre-primary, primary or high school.
At the heart of the Pretoria Show is still the livestock and agricultural section. The programme usually starts before the rest of the show, and highlights include various championships for such animals as Boerboels, German Shepherds, Miniature Horses, and more.
Visitors to the Pretoria Show can also enjoy great food and entertainment like live performances and beauty pageants.
